Fighter for Social Justice is a blog curated by Sean A. Watkins, a social justice strategic communications specialist. He holds a B.A. in Comparative Cultures & Politics from Michigan State University, and has a strong passion for social justice and equality. He is currently based out of New York City and is impassioned to raise his voice to call out the injustices and marginalisations existing throughout the U.S. and our world.
At the age of 16, Sean embarked on a year-long high school foreign exchange programme to Brazil, and has since travelled, lived, and worked on three continents (so far)—experiences which have cultivated his belief in seeing the world to induce positive change for one’s self and the global community we belong to.
As a gay Black male, Sean’s experiences reflect his personal journey of navigating a white, heteronormative, and patriarchal society as someone of two intersecting marginalised identities. A radical and critical thinker, this blog is Sean’s space to externalise some of the thoughts and/or frustrations that come to mind.
The opinions and views expressed in this blog are Sean’s only, and do not necessarily represent those of any of his employers.
